The ALKMSO Conference in Kisumu brought together laboratory professionals, researchers and decision-makers from across East Africa. Kisumu's position in the region and its role as a healthcare hub made it a natural setting for a meeting focused on laboratory practice.
At our stand we showed the laboratory product line — analysers, reagents and consumables — and spent most of the time on the questions that matter to a laboratory manager rather than a product sheet: what throughput a bench actually sustains, how reagent supply is maintained, and who attends when an instrument fails.
Conferences of this kind are useful to us for the same reason they are useful to attendees. A conversation at a stand tells us more about what a laboratory needs than any tender document, and the specification advice we give afterwards is better for it.
