Overview
This 5-litre citric acid solution is used for the routine heat-assisted disinfection and descaling of a hemodialysis machine’s internal fluid pathways between treatment sessions. Citric acid dissolves the calcium and magnesium scale that builds up from bicarbonate dialysate and reduces bacterial load in the hydraulic circuit, and being non-corrosive to machine components and free of chlorine residues it is well suited to daily use.
