Overview
An ambu bag, or bag-valve-mask resuscitator, lets a clinician manually ventilate a patient who is not breathing adequately, squeezing the self-inflating bag to push air or supplemental oxygen into the lungs through a face mask or an endotracheal tube. A one-way patient valve prevents rebreathing, and an oxygen reservoir raises the delivered oxygen concentration when connected to a supply.
