Overview
These sterile swabs collect specimens from wounds, throat, nose, eye, ear, and genital sites for culture and sensitivity testing, and are returned to their own transport tube immediately after sampling so the specimen stays contained and identifiable on the way to the laboratory. The rayon or cotton-tipped applicator on a plastic or wooden shaft picks up and releases the sample well, and the screw-cap tube prevents leakage and contamination in transit.
