Overview
This 750g bicarbonate cartridge holds dry sodium bicarbonate powder that the dialysis machine dissolves in purified water on demand to produce the bicarbonate half of the dialysate. Preparing bicarbonate at the point of use avoids the bacterial growth that liquid bicarbonate concentrate supports once opened, which improves dialysate quality and reduces waste.
The cartridge clips directly onto the machine’s dedicated port, so there is no measuring or decanting for staff between sessions. Used with acid concentrate and purified water on every treatment, it is a routine consumable in any dialysis unit.
