Overview
This dialysis fluid filter, with a 2.1 m² filtration surface, is fitted in-line on the dialysate pathway of a hemodialysis machine to remove bacteria, endotoxins, and particulates from the dialysate before it reaches the dialyzer membrane. Using an ultrafilter of this kind helps a dialysis unit meet water and dialysate quality standards and reduces the risk of pyrogenic reactions during treatment.
It is a routine, periodically replaced consumable for any hemodialysis programme.
