Baby Cot

A hospital baby cot holds a newborn beside the mother’s bed on a postnatal ward or in a nursery, with a transparent panelled basket that lets staff see the baby without opening or disturbing the cot. The basket lifts out of its frame for cleaning and can usually be tilted to raise the head end where clinically indicated. A wheeled stand with braked castors lets staff move the baby between the mother’s bedside, the nursery, and the examination area, and a lower shelf holds nappies and linen.
