IV cannulae establish peripheral venous access for fluids, medication, blood products, and contrast, staying in place after the introducer needle is withdrawn. The tapered, thin-wall catheter tracks smoothly into the vein, a flashback chamber confirms entry, and wings plus an injection port let staff secure the device and give bolus doses without breaking the line.
