Overview
This 17G fistula needle is the finest gauge in the range, used where a smaller cannula is preferred: a newly matured fistula being cannulated for the first sessions, a smaller or more fragile vessel, or a paediatric prescription running at lower blood flow rates. The narrower bore reduces trauma to the vessel wall at the cost of the maximum achievable flow, so it is chosen deliberately against the prescription.
Sharp-bevel, thin-wall construction and a winged hub for secure taping complete it. Sterile and single-use, stocked alongside the 15G and 16G sizes.
