Biosafety Transport Box BTB-L Series

The BTB-L series is the transport box used to move blood, samples and vaccines between facilities — a validated cold chain container rather than a cool box. It is designed for Category A and B infectious substances, covering blood, biological products, pathogenic microorganisms and vaccines, and is approved for air transport.

A real-time digital temperature display on the outside reads to 0.1 degree C resolution, and the box holds 2 to 8 degrees C for 24 hours. With different ice packs it can also run a freezing mode between -12 and -22 degrees C. Insulation is integral-foamed polyurethane, considerably thicker than a standard cool box, with EPS and PU or pure PU depending on model.

Construction is blow- and injection-moulded with a burr-free surface: polypropylene inside for easy disinfection, polyethylene outside for toughness and crack resistance. The cold source is safe against skin, unlike dry ice, and expands no more than 15 per cent when frozen solid so it will not crack the box. Available as BTB-L5, L6, L8, L12 and L15.
