Overview
The Class II Type A2 biological safety cabinet recirculates 70 per cent of its air and exhausts 30 per cent, the standard configuration for microbiology work. It provides triple protection — operator, sample and environment — with the work zone held under negative pressure so contaminated air cannot escape towards the user.
A large LCD control panel shows every parameter at once: inflow and downflow velocity, exhaust and downflow filter pressure, temperature and humidity in the work zone, remaining filter life as a percentage, UV lamp life and working time, and total system hours. Microprocessor control includes a memory function that restores settings after a power failure.
The motorised front window operates one-handed in two-layer laminated toughened glass of at least 5mm with anti-UV protection. Voice prompts accompany audio and visual alarms for abnormal airflow velocity, filters needing replacement, and the window being raised above the safe working height of 200mm. A remote control operates all functions from up to 6 metres away, which protects the operator in an emergency.
